Danny Tenaglia
Talk about a blast from the past! Friday we had the honor of having Danny Tenaglia perform at Opera after 10 years of not coming to ATL. This New York DJ brought the best of the 90s electronic music with modern day E.D.M and the combination was truly explosive. He introduced us to the classic sounds of techno that started this wonderful movement. What made his performance truly memorable is that he brought together ravers of all ages, the new with the classic. He had the energy at an all-time high showing Atlanta that he still has tricks up his sleeves. Everyone was enjoying themselves throughout his performance, happily losing themselves within his exotic mixes.
Danny started collecting records at the young age of ten and as he started going to the nightclubs in N.Y. he knew his passion was in DJing. His career started kicking off in 1985 when he became a resident DJ at Cheers Nightclub in Miami. He has made mixes for popular 80s songs such as “I’m too sexy” and Madonna’s “Human Nature”. After 30 years of DJing, Danny finally resigned in 2012 cancelling all his upcoming shows. Lucky for us, he came out of retirement and we got to finally have him perform at Opera. Music is like breathing, and you never get tired of breathing, so you never get tired of music
At the age of 53, Danny is still creating great music and is keeping the E.D.M strong. I can’t believe we had this legend grace our stage with his awesomeness! Music is like breathing, and you never get tired of breathing, so you never get tired of music. Thank you, Danny Tenaglia, for believing in the power of music, for believing in electronic music, for making this more than just a movement, for making E.D.M. possible. Keep the love strong Atlanta, till next week!
