Paint me white and red and call me Canadian because Dzeko & Torres have won my heart! Friday night we had the pleasure of hosting this dynamic duo at Opera. Dzeko & Torres indulged every ones taste of music from progressive to dub-step, they even threw in a little bit of hip hop in there. The turn up was REAL! Beads of sweat glistened throughout the crowds' bodies because they were raging so hard. My feet are still tingling with the sensation.
This Canadian duo, also known Julian and Luis, started off producing house tech music but has recently switched over to progressive house. Although they started mixing at a very young age they didn't really take DJing seriously until after Julian went to his first Tiesto concert and was mind blown. Being that Luis was his best friend it only felt right to start this grand adventure with him. Little did they know that after years of hard work Tiesto would take them on as his protégés and has also gone as far as including them on his Music Freedom Label. Since then they have sky rocked in the E.D.M world. So far they have performed at such festivals as Coachella, Ultra, and Tomorrowland. They are currently touring throughout North America, and of course they had to stop in Atlanta!
Dzeko & Torres journey is fantastical! Two young men working their way through the E.D.M. world to find themselves working alongside one of their idols! They have skyrocketed within the last six months and of course we had to have them perform at Opera. I hope they enjoyed their stay in Atlanta because I know that we enjoyed having them. They brought the crowd the ultimate E.D.M. experience and for that we salute them. We can't wait to have them back on our stage. We wish them the best in their epic journey. Til' next time my PLUR community and remember to turn up the love and lose yourselves in the music!

Mayhem Residency Debut July 2014
Unbelievable, Friday has come and gone and my heart beat is still like “BWAAH BUM-BUM-BUM WHIZZE-WHIZZE WUH WAAAAHHHHH!” How did I get in such a state of excitement you may ask? DJ Mayhem of course! He came and set Opera into a trap. . . . .Well don’t be silly not an actual trap, an E.D.M Trap! His high energy mixes surprised nobody putting them into a hardcore raging frenzy. This Atlanta DJ not only performed but his interaction with the crowd gave it a personal touch. I can still hear the chanting of ATL in my ears.
Mayhem started DJing in the early 2000’s in none other than Atlanta, GA. Although he began as a heavy Drum and Bass DJ, Mayhem has become a forefront for the music movement that we know as TRAP. He has worked with Rap artists such as Tyga, Gucci Mane, Travis Porter, and Trouble. Mayhem has performed all over the world and in popular festivals such as Tomorrow World and Counterpoint. He has recently been brought back to Atlanta to work on a new music movement that combines TRAP and Dubstep. His passion lies in Drum & Bass and Trap but he has a healthy respect for the crowd as a whole thus incorporating a wide variety of other genres into his sets.
We have had the pleasure of having Mayhem perform at our venue before and just like last time he did not disappoint. As soon as he started spinning, the crowd was at an all-time high. We loved every second of the show from his little goat mascot to having his fellow DJ friends perform alongside him. Mayhem’s love for his city and interaction with the crowd won the hearts of everyone, truly making this an epic performance. Opera is honored to have Mayhem represent Atlanta in the E.D.M. World and know that he will do our city proud. If we were blown away with the creation of TRAP, we can’t imagine what he has brewing next but we know it will be of epic proportion. Mayhem creates more than just music, he creates a lifestyle. Life may not be the party we had hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance! Until next week ATL!

Nicole Moudaber
EDM is a movement, a lifestyle, an escape that has been around for years but it has not been until recently that women have slowly edged their way into the industry. On Friday we had the one and only, QUEEN OF TECHNO, Nicole Moudaber take over Opera. The anticipation everyone was feeling all week was finally relieved as she stepped on stage and the LED board lit her silhouette. She started her rhythmic music and everyone’s problems seemed to slip away as they gave into the music. She became more than just a DJ, she became an escape.
Nicole Moudaber is a Lebanese DJ that was born in Nigeria but was raised in Lebanon. Her music ranges from techno, electronica, deep house, house, and tech house but she is best recognized by her fans as a tech house DJ. Although she had been creating music for years, her career didn’t take off until 2009 when techno artist Carl Cox told a magazine that Moudaber was the most underrated DJ and it has been uphill from there. She has produced only one album, Believe, so far. Among her many accomplishments nothing impressed us more than the fact that she was one of the first people to bring E.D.M. to the Middle East. She started in 1996 with her “Trashy Renaissance” parties but due to the fact that party goers where expressing themselves in ways that offended the government, the parties ceased to continue. She was later questioned by the police about the intentions of these parties; once released she moved to Europe not only for her safety but also so she can freely express herself with her music.
We are honored that Nicole Moudaber performed at our venue. Women like her are an inspiration to us females. She is in an industry that is predominantly run by men, but this has never swayed her from her goal. Her hard work and talent has shown the E.D.M industry that she is a power to be reckoned with. She will help pave the way for all future female DJs to come. We are happy to be able to bring her to Atlanta and we hope everyone was as captivated by her as much as we were. We look forward to having her back and to see what new music she is going to mesmerize us with. I leave you with the lovely words of the P.L.U.R community: PEACE LOVE UNITY RESPECT. Till next week Atlanta!

Homegrown July 2014
EAT SLEEP RAVE REPEAT! A phrase that is in the lips of everyone! Atlanta has been in the cutting edge of the music industry since the early 90’s when it became the global leader in the uprising Hip-Hop. It comes with no surprise that with rise of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) we plan on becoming a threshold in this music movement. On Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting what we like to call The Homegrown edition, a show composed of our finest Atlanta DJs: High Kalliber, Midnight Panda, Snell Villain, and MK Ultra.
We choose our DJs not only for their talent, but also to get you guys a varied taste of what Atlanta has to offer. High Kalliber, being the newest addition, as she has only been in the industry 6 months, has concocted a double drop Bass and Drum set. She got her first big gig at the popular show Kingdom Rave. Midnite Panda blew us away with his eccentric trap concoctions. MK Ultra, who performed at our venue this past December, ranged from dubstep, house, dirty electro, moombaton, and hardstyle but concentrates mainly on dubstep. SnellVillain produces a cutting edge set that balances between Dubstep and Trap.
The turn up was real! These young DJs have quickly made themselves known and they are a force to be reckoned with. They brought high energy sets that made everyone dance regardless if they wanted to or not. Their music has truly touched our souls, and transported us into a magical place. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for them, and here at Opera we are rooting for them full force. We wish them the best of luck and await the day for them to become our main act. As I had stated at the beginning, Eat Sleep Rave Repeat, but here, at Opera, we like to say EAT, SLEEP, OPERA, REPEAT! ! ! !

Mimosa June 2014
Someone call a doctor because this set is absolutely SICK! ! ! On Friday night Mimosa came and tore down the house with his Dubstep and Trap infusions. As Mimosa took the stage, you could feel an air of excitement as he worked his magic on the board, sending everyone into a dancing frenzy. Unsure on whether he was going to stay true to his origins or veer off towards Trap, we were happily impressed to see that he concocted a set that incorporated both genres.
Mimosa which is also known as Tigran Mkhiyaryan started producing music at the young age of seventeen in Oakland, CA and is currently residing in L.A. He originally started mixing with dubstep and glitch but has recently started experimenting with Trap in the past two years. For those of you who did not know, Trap originated in no other than Atlanta, Georgia. (GO ATL!) Mimosa has worked alongside Pretty Lights and Glitch Mob. He has produced thus far four albums: Hostilis, Silver Lining, Sanctuary, and Future Trill. Not satisfied with just creating music, Mimosa has also started his own record label, False Idol Musik, an impressive feat all on its own.
Many may have seen this DJ this past September at the electronic festival known as Tomorrow World. We were so impressed with his performance that it only made sense to bring him back to Georgia and what better place than Opera Nightclub of course, the ultimate EDM experience. Duh! With his infusion of eccentric underground electronic music, Mimosa left the crowd exhausted but with a smile on their faces, and the satisfaction was obvious as it radiated off their bodies! Opera was happy to have this cutting edge DJ and we are anxiously waiting to see what he has in store for us in the future, as he has shown us that he, if anything, is adaptable to the constant changes in the EDM World. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Fourth of July weekend. Until next time my EDM Family, and remember:

Sub Focus June 2014
You’re standing at the main stage and The Book of Wisdom begins to open. A sweet and mysterious voice echoes through the speakers, “People of Tomorrow World welcome to the stage, SUB FOCUS”. Suddenly there is music surrounding you and infiltrating your mind, at least that’s what is going to happen in September when the festival comes to Georgia. But until then you have Atlanta’s own little piece of magic right in the center of midtown, yes I am talking about Opera. On Friday, we teamed up with Tomorrow World to bring you a taste of the magic. Not only did they decorate the venue with authentic Tomorrow World décor but they brought one of the headlining DJs, Sub Focus.
Just to give you a little insight to this English DJ Sub Focus, also known as Nick Douwma, started in the early 2000’s and in 2005 he hit the charts with his hit single, “X-RAY” (A must listen if you have not heard it before). Sub Focus has produced thus far two albums which are Sub Focus in 2009 and Torus in 2013. Although his music primarily features drum and bass some of his tracks incorporate elements of dubstep, electro, house, breakbeat, and trance giving Sub Focus an edge that appeals to a wide variety of music lovers. Among his top hits are “Endorphines” and “Tidal Wave”.
Sub Focus kept the crowd energy high and put them into a jumping frenzy that just didn’t stop, with his catchy melodies mixes. Opera was happy to bring one of the best experiences to our EDM Family. For those that were fortunate enough to go to Tomorrow World, we hope this performance brought you back to that magical time. We hope new memories were created on Friday to keep you wanting more. For those that did not have the chance to attend the festival may this be taste of what is to come this September. Although the festival is not until September, fret not because Opera will continue to bring mind blowing EDM DJs every Friday making the magic continue. Tune in next week to see how MIMOSA brings the house down this Friday! I leave you with the wise words of the Book of Wisdom:
Yesterday is History, Today is a Gift, Tomorrow a Mystery

Zomboy at Opera May 2014
The heavy bass-hitting beats return to Opera Nightclub as dubstep artist, ZOMBOY makes a pit stop here in Atlanta on his 28-day Outbreak Tour around the country.
Joshua Mellody began his electronic dance music productions when he traveled from his home town in England to here in the U.S and submerged himself in sound recording and engineering. Shortly after returning back to the U.K., this bass-dropping connoisseur had established himself as rising dubstep DJ and producer, Zomboy (the name stemming from his love of the video game “Left for Dead”). Since then, Zomboy’s productions in the EDM world have gained recognition and exploded in popularity.
As the doors opened this past Friday night, lines packed with eager bassheads piled up and wrapped around Opera Nightclub awaiting for an insane performance soon to happen. Vibrant and bass-thirsty fans swarmed the dance floor with energy ready to let loose to some dirty bass drops. Special guest COOKIE MONSTA opened the night and certainly delivered with a set that hyped up the fans with wanting more. With fans chanting “Zomboy! Zomboy! Zomboy!”, Zomboy bolted to the main stage with a warm welcoming of high energy “wub”. Including tracks such as their leading track rated #1 on the Top 15 Dubstep Tracks of 2013 “Terror Squad” and one of his most popular original tracks produced before booming in the EDM industry in 2011 “Organ Donor” put on an unforgettable show of rage.
Join us this upcoming Friday as electronica, techno, and tech-house DJ and producer UMEK headlines another epic night of EDM at the hottest club bringing in the top-rated EDM DJs and producers here in Atlanta, Opera Nightclub.

Benny Benassi Memorial Day Weekend 2014
Who would have thought to spend their Sunday night partying with hundreds of other people until 3 am at Opera Nightclub? This past Sunday, Illuminate and Opera Nightclub hosted one hell of a night with top-charting DJ and producer, BENNY BENASSI headlining the main stage.
Benassi’s boom within the realm of electronic dance music kick started after joining forces with his cousin Alle, together known as the Benassi Bros, and releasing international hit single “Satisfaction”. This track brought huge success to Benassi’s music career as it was featured as #1 in the Official Dance Chart in France, #2 in the Official UK Top 40 singles chart and #2 in the Official Dance Chart in Germany. From there came countless production releases including his 2003 solo debut album produced alongside with the Biz Hypnotica and his 2005 top-charting second studio album Phobia. Collaborating with star vocalist Gary Go, the two artists created the leading track “Cinema” in which Skrillex used his sound engineering finesse to remix this track and is now featured on iTunes US Dance Top 10.
And the crowd undoubtedly went nuts when he dropped this track Sunday night.
With a jam-packed house of raving Benny fans, a set of high energy electro-house tracks infused with a mild taste of some hard-hitting trap, and an overall electrifying performance brought an unforgettable night to celebrate this Memorial day weekend here at Opera Nightclub.
Reserve your VIP table for you and your friends this upcoming Friday as electronica, techno, and tech-house DJ and record producer UMEK highlights our EDM Friday night.

Paul Van Dyk at Opera May 2014
Paul Van Dyk’s journey to becoming one of the most globally acclaimed DJ and audio architect known today began when he first started listening to the radio while he was growing up.
“I grew up in East Germany and I always used to listen to the radio when I did my homework,” he remembers. “The only way to connect with free society and the outside world was the radio. Music changed my life when I was 10-years-old. Radio DJs are the ones who opened up my connection to the world.” 1
From then on, this music mastermind became one of the leading artists known to shape the evolution of electronic dance music. Using techno as a fundamental framework, Paul Van Dyk developed one of the ultimate subgenres of EDM known as trance. To this day, Paul Van Dyk’s novelty of trance remains one of the most prominent original subgenres in EDM and has inspired many of the founding fathers of EDM, including Armin Van Buuren, to produce and construct electronic sound. Nicknamed PvD by his whole-hearted followers, PvD has been ranked the World’s No.1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs poll on several occasions, and in 2005, received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his original album Reflections. This marked the first time that the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences recognized this category.
Last Friday night, Opera Nightclub was packed full of eager fans awaiting for PvD to approach the main stage, and without any hesitation, the crowd burst in pandemonium as he opened his set of classic tracks at full speed. Starting the night with high energy and techy tracks, such as “Superman” by Mat Zo, the set seamlessly flowed into a collection of uplifting and fast paced trance tracks including, and even playing along on the piano, his phenomenal remix of “Sunday by Hurts. As PvD continued to lay one epic track after another, this trance genius escorted the night with one legendary track that ended his set to perfection: “I Don’t Deserve You”. With the sea of luminous fans swaying their hands and illuminating glow wands side to side and passionately harmonizing the melodies in unison, PvD’s set of brilliance came to an end. The crowd roared with excitement for one last song to end the night, but unfortunately he was told to close the night. Instead, PvD unhesitatingly ran to the front of stage, hugged, took pictures, and signed anything that his dedicated fans handed him until the night was forced to end.
It was another highly anticipated and miraculous night of extraordinary electronic dance music. As we continue to bring in the best DJs and producers known to EDM every Friday, grab your tickets and come join us this upcoming Friday while UK dance music DJ duo LETS BE FRIENDS will headline another epic EDM performance here at Opera Nightclub.

Sasha At Opera May 2014
The evolution of the music industry is shining its spotlight on the rise of electronic dance music (EDM) within mainstream sound and culture. This rapidly emerging EDM movement began in the mid-to-late 80’s with the production of techno beats and has seen an influx of DJs and producers offering unique sounds and style to the genre. However, only a select few of these electronic music innovators still remain relevant in the music scene today. One music prodigy that has maintained the essence of his sound dating back to the early 90’s is DJ/producer, Sasha, and last Friday, fans and newcomers who were here with us at Opera Nightclub experienced the light of Sasha’s unique range of sound.
The beginning of Sasha’s largest contribution to the EDM genre began when Sasha’s style of sound encompassed a mixture of uplifting piano led Italian House whilst playing acapella tracks over the top. This eventually led to his diverse assortment of tracks and albums, making it difficult for his listeners to define his particular style of music productions.
With the LED-paneled stage lowered down inches away from the dance floor, fans got a little bit of a taste of an up-close-and-personal performance. Sasha eased his audience in with an extraordinary contrast of atmospheric sound accentuated by a more chill and groovy beat. Featuring tracks from his 2008 album “Invol2ver”, Sasha even took his fans way back by stealthily sneaking in some of his early productions with his partner in crime, John Digweed. Sasha’s incredibly savvy gift of music entertainment certainly delivered as he gradually progressed his set from an underground feel with tech house, house and deep house to even dabbling into some progressive trance. In performing a set comprised of all different styles of music, this talented musician goes to show that EDM has absolutely no boundaries in productions.
Opera Nightclub continues to bring in the best EDM DJs and producers to Atlanta, and if you haven’t heard already, a very special performance by another legendary music whiz will be highlighting THIS UPCOMING FRIDAY. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets and reserve your VIP table for you and your friends as Grammy award-winning trance genius and first ever DJ to be named #1 by Mixmag in 2005, PAUL VAN DYKE will be headlining here at the best club to party at in Atlanta, Opera Nightclub.

Cazzette at Opera 2014
In 2011, music DJ duo members Sebastian Furrer and Alexander Björklund started off as two Stockholm producers who joined forces in combining two of the most popular substyles of electronic dance music (EDM): dubstep and house and developing “dubhouse”. Little did Cazzette know that their music career would soon flourish as they made their official debut in 2011 with a remix of Avicii’s single “Sweet Dreams”. In 2012, these talented musicians released their top-charting single “Beam Me Up” along with their debut EP, “Eject” that became the first major debut issued exclusively to a streaming music site. With this newly emerging EDM DJ/producer duo contributing remixes and mashups of ever so popular EDM tunes along with their own solid productions of dubhouse, electro house, and progressive house, the genre of EDM continues to expand rapidly in all directions of sound.
DJ Danny M opened last Saturday night with a set that flooded the dance floor with house lovers. Easing in a powerhouse of hard-hitting tracks, DJ Danny M pumped the crowd with remarkable energy right before Cazzette’s taking on of the main stage. However, we knew that Cazzette’s performance was going to be one-of-a-kind to their past performances as Sebastian Furrer performed as a one-man-performance, shifting the energy at midnight to some groovy electronica and melodic techno. By 1 pm, the energy on the dance floor had shifted to a complete 180 as Alexander Björklund approached the turn tables with full-forced energy. Including tracks such as their leading singles “Beam Me Up” and “Weapon”, Cazzette fans had the dance floor shaking in intensity. With dancing smurfs, minions, and teddy bears, and music that you can’t help but dance to, Cazzette’s performance contributed to yet another unforgettable night here at Opera Nightclub.
Be sure to grab your tickets for this upcoming Friday as trance legend, PAUL VAN DYKE will be headlining an epic night for all EDM fans. Reserve your VIP table for you and your friends whether it may be for a bachelorette party, birthday party, or if you and your friends are just flat out trance addicts. This exceptional offer includes a VIP seated section above the dance floor with a great view of the DJ main stage, cocktail waitress service, priority admission for you and your party, bottles of alcohol and mixers of your choice, and an extraordinary night to remember!

Chus & Ceballos
Chus & Ceballos
Opera Nightclub hosted a particularly unique night this past Friday as house DJ duo and producers from Spain, Chus and Ceballos made it an unforgettable night of sexy and groovy tech-house sound.
The evolution of the duo’s unparalleled sound began in the 1980s in the Iberian peninsula of Spain and Portugal when Chus L. Esteban started to develop an underground movement of rhythmic and percussive electronic house music fused with groove and vocal rips. Finally, after meeting and combining forces with Pablo Ceballos’ dynamic techno and house style, emerged the worldwide musical trend of numbing tribal soundscapes blended with modern tech detail, known as ‘Iberican Sound’.
This Iberican sound certainly delivered that night as avid Chus and Ceballos fans packed the main stage and grooved the night away.
And the parties never stop here at Opera Nightclub! Join us this upcoming weekend as music legend, Sasha mesmerizes the club with diverse and integrated electronic sound this Friday, and rising house DJ duo, Cazzette prevails the main stage at Opera Nightclub’s Saturday night S#!T Show. Reserve your VIP table for an exclusive VIP seated section, cocktail waitress service, priority admission for you and your party, and bottles and mixers to accompany your special night.

The club was packed from wall to wall, and not a single person was standing still! Opera was in full glow mode, and the crowd was losing it at the bass-drop.
All the way from Paris, France, DJ Snake is at the front of the trap sound. With a Grammy nominated album in 2012, a track on the current Billboard top 100, and a huge fan base, there was huge anticipation for DJ Snakes visit to Atlanta. No one in the crowd was disappointed. Taking in the lights, the amazing view from upstairs, VIP was the place to be to catch a glimpse of everything.

Tritonal- Colors Tour 2014
Just beginning their COLORS 2014 tour with Paris Blohm, DJ duo, Tritonal made an epic return to Opera Nightclub this past Friday with more en masse intensity and a whole lot more of their energetic and loyal followers, “Tritonians”.
After joining forces for only three short years of music production, the two talented artists of progressive house provision have gone from unknown newcomers to one of the most renowned DJ’s and producers in the international EDM scene. Doctor P, Cookie Monsta, and Mizuki
Doctor P, Cookie Monsta, and Mizuki
Do you love that hard hitting and dirty bass drop? This past Friday, Illuminate and Opera Nightclub brought in a few bass-savvy DJ’s.
And we sure couldn’t have had a better night without the beautiful crowd that was brought along with it. Rave culture has never looked its finest until this night as the rave community flaunted their creative styles with mind-blowing and crafty deadmau5 heads, glowing LED paraphernalia, and lots and lots of the iconic symbol of dance music, kandi. EDM fans from different spectrums of the state traveled here to support their bass-dropping prodigies.
As godfathers of modern bass-driven music, both Doctor P and Flux Pavillion joined forces to create a platform for newly emerging sound in the Dubstep scene by creating their own label that has created an entirely new generation of EDM fans, Circus Records. Circus Records is home to many hard hitting bass producers and was able to shed some of it’s light this past Friday night as talented artists featured on this label, Mizuki, Cookie Monsta and Doctor P performed here at Opera Nightclub.
Young and talented artist Mizuki started the night off with going straight into business with tracks such as “Block Party” and “Helios”. Representing the loud and grimy side of dubstep, UK producer, Cookie Monsta destroyed the crowd by performing some ground shaking bass and grungy synths including one of his most renown tracks crafted by him and Flux Pavillion, “Come Find Me”. Closing the night with a dirty set, Doctor P never seizes to inspire his fans by spinning some of the most creative arts of dubstep. Tearing up the main stage, this dubstep mastermind threw his fans in a heavy bass stupor with one of the first releases on Circus, “Sweet Shop”.
Needless to say this was an epic night full of PLUR in the air presented by the vibrant EDM community. Join us this upcoming Friday as local DJ Reliquary will be opening the night for American producers and DJ duo, Tritonal. Saturday night, glamorous Swedish DJ duo, Rebecca and Fiona will be bringing in yet another unforgettable night here at Opera Nightclub.

As the doors to Opera Nightclub opened at 10 pm, local producer and DJ, Funk Manchu opened the night with a groovy and sexy house vibe. EDM fans packed the mainstage dance floor and couldn’t have asked for a better opening set as DJ Funk Manchu shifted from a funky house and nu-disco sound into some hard-hitting progressive and electro house. The clock struck 1 am and the swarm of avid fans raged as young Electronic Dance Music prodigy, Audien plunged the decks with phenomenal energy.
Surrounded by LED panels unveiling psychedelic visuals, Audien threw his fans in sensory overload as he performed a flawless set of straight bangers live. Including tracks such as his 2014 charting track “Elysium” and sneaking in his mashup of one of his top tracks, “Wayfarer” with trance legends, Above & Beyond’s most popular tracks, “Sun and Moon”, Audien’s performance marked one hell of an epic night at Opera Nightclub.

Arnej and Sex Panther Weekend
Arnej and Sex Panther Weekend
This past weekend, Opera Nightclub and Illuminate had the pleasure of hosting an eventful weekend, bringing in two talented electronic dance music artists: international trance superstar, ARNEJ and electro-house producers and DJ Duo, SEX PANTHER.
Friday night, supportive Atlanta EDM fans flooded the main stage dance floor shortly after doors opened at 10 pm, as winner of Liquified’s search for local talent, Microsis, grooved the audience with a dynamic set of deep house and psychedelic sound. With the crowd warmed up, Arnej took over the turntables with finesse as he gradually transitioned the energy into his 4-hour extended set. His well-crafted compilation of songs kept his fans immersed in ecstasy for the full 4-hour set, consisting of a diverse range from groovy house to emotional sounds of trance and even a bit of some hard-hitting and dark psy-trance.
Saturday night, SEX PANTHER shifted Opera’s Saturday Night S#!T Show to a whole different level of party. Imagine this: you and the ladies of your bachelorette party cheers champagne glasses to a memorable night in your own VIP booth on the top floor of Opera Nightclub. As Sex Panther rides out the night with music you just can’t help but to scream and say “THIS IS MY SONG”, you move the party to the main dance floor. Just when you think Opera Nightclub couldn’t get any more bizarre, you just can’t help but to notice an enchanted and mysterious man wandering the dance floor on stilts.

Emily’s sister, Wendy Lipman died of cystic fibrosis just 2 weeks after her birth, and her brother Andy Lipman, currently lives day-to-day with this genetic disorder. In August of 2006, Emily and her family founded A Wish for Wendy, a charity softball tournament committed to increasing awareness of living with cystic fibrosis and supporting efforts to find a cure. In addition to the Lipman family discovering this charitable event, Emily has hosted her Raw Love Fashion Show charity, and profits raised from ticket sales are graciously donated to A Wish for Wendy annually, benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Myon & Shane 54 and Late Night Alumni
Myon & Shane 54 and Late Night Alumni at Opera Nightclub
We are absolutely thrilled to have hosted one of the performances of Hungarian Trance DJ Duo, Myon & Shane 54’s full North American Tour partnered with Late Night Alumni this past Friday night.
Opening act, Late Night Alumni lifted the ambience of the main room, fusing chill dance music with live strings and soft trance-like vocals of stunning vocal artist, Becky Jean Williams. Including some of their most popular tracks such as “Why Ask Why” and “Empty Streets”, Becky even amazed her EDM fans by performing a few vocal tracks off of Kaskade’s album. The luminous sea of fans lit up the dance floor with vibrant energy and glowing wands while Late Night Alumni transitioned their atmospheric set into one of the most memorable highlights here at Opera. Roaring pandemonium sounded the room as Myon & Shane 54 approached the main stage. Talented artists of BOTH Myon & Shane 54 AND Late Night Alumni blew their fans away with a breathtaking performance of their leading collaborative track, “Under Your Cloud”.
Opening the set with their “One More Time” Daft Punk tribute remix, Myon & Shane 54 continued to amplify the liveliness of their wholehearted fans with a dynamic and well-assembled set of progressive electro house and vocal trance tracks.
How many performers do you know that stick around with their fans after their performance? These trance legends were more than happy to hang out and snap a few shots with their fans of the top floor VIP section, and I was fortunate enough to catch a quick conversation with them.
“How did you feel about the crowd that you guys brought out to Opera tonight?”
“This was a special night for us. The crowd was BEAUTIFUL and had so much energy. We couldn’t have asked for a better night […] We leave tomorrow night for our last performance of the tour in Miami, and I have to say this was one of our favorite crowds that we’ve played for on this entire tour”.

Borgeous had a killer set at Opera
Borgeous had a killer set at Opera
This past Friday, Atlanta’s #1 Nightclub hosted one of EDM’s fastest rising stars BORGEOUS! Anticipation filled the air early into the night as the Miami native was set to play to another packed house. As the line grew longer and the music grew louder it was only a matter of time before one of the best parties Atlanta has seen this year was underway.
Although his early releases like "From Cali With Love", "GANGSTEROUS", and "AGGRO" launched his career in 2013, it was the release of the smash hit "Tsunami" that took his career to the international level. In fact, Billboard magazine called it “the most played tune at Tomorrowland,” the 2013 Belgian electronic music festival.
The crowd was alive and energized and chants for the superstar could be heard long before the opening DJ was finished. As BORGEOUS took the stage though there was a moment of silence that lasted for a couple seconds. The silence was short-lived and when the first beat dropped, the dance floor was out of control and remained that way until the end of the night.
Guests over the age of 21, could enjoy the show from the VIP area, with a private bar and a direct view overlooking the DJ booth. Anyone 18+ were free to feel the energy on Opera’s iconic main dance floor. This was a set to remember as BORGEOUS played a diverse range of music including his hit “Tsunami”, “Animals” by Martin Garrix, and even bringing back some recent classics like “Pressure” the Alesso remix. By the end of the night the room was still buzzing and the crowd was chanting again.
Opera Nightclub continues to bring world class talent from the EDM world exclusively to the Illuminate events every Friday. This coming Friday be sure to join us for TWO world class acts, Late Night Alumni, and Myon and Shane54 as the Illuminate experience continues!

However, this wasn’t just any night of getting out of the house and partying. Passion Pit Debuts at Opera
Passion Pit Debuts at Opera
After the chaotic Snowpocalypse of 2014 shutting down the city and trappingeveryone inside for a few days, Friday night was finally a night to go out and let loose. This Fridaywas particularly memorable as Illuminate brought in the widely known electronic indie pop band, Passion Pit. Passion Pit piled the main roomwith an energetic and passionate crowd of dedicated followers. With the rise in the electronic dance music scene, this indietronica group decided to change things up a bit and fuse in some of their performances with live dj-mixing as they started their fall tour of 2013 across the continent. Just now coming back from their winter break, the group has made an epic return as they entertained the crowd with an extraordinary compilation of tracks.
Bassist, Jeff Apruzzese performed in light of Passion Pit and overwhelmed the fans with a rare and dynamic setlist ranging from synthpop to upbeat and groovy techhouse and even dubtronica. Illuminate 1 Year Anniversary
Illuminate 1 Year Anniversary
Last Friday night marked the one year anniversary of Opera’ Nightclub’s largely successful “Illuminate” events. Illuminate has been bringing Atlanta the best talent in the EDM scene for a year now, and to celebrate they held nothing back by bringing TWO of the biggest names in the dance music scene. Trance legends Cosmic Gate, and Australian super DJ Tydi, both shared the stage and headlined the night.
The anticipation started early on as the crowd easily packed out the club. Originally, Tydi was going to kick the night off, but due to a delayed flight, it was Cosmic Gate that played first. Although unintentional, the situation played out perfectly as Cosmic Gate opened with some hard hitting, high energy bangers. The fans were loving every second of it as these guys have a MASSIVE resume of music extending back over ten years. Still, their newest track, “So get up”, got the best reactions. The German trance duo satisfied the old fans as well playing their well known classics “Exploration of Space”, and “Firewire”. The energy in the room was out of control as they wrapped up their set halfway into the night.
The crowd was chanting as Tydi took the stage immediately afterwards, and wasted no time picking things up where Cosmic Gate left off. Opening with the Walking Dead theme song and some of his newest music on his recent album “Hotel Rooms”, the energy in the room shifted into a hands in the air atmosphere. The night went on and the Australian star lifted the crowd with emotional vocal tracks, and got them dancing hard again with a well balanced mix of music. By the end of the set the room was calling for an encore, and Tydi seemed just as enthused to continue for one more song.
It was a highly anticipated night, and in the end, the DJ’s and fans both delivered. With one year under its belt, the “Illuminate” events show no signs of slowing down as incredible talent such as Myon and Shane, Late Night Alumni, and Passion Pit headline in the upcoming weeks. It’s going to be another amazing year for EDM fans in Atlanta as we look forward to having more world class talent at Opera.

Paul Oakenfold Illuminates Opera
Paul Oakenfold Illuminates Opera
Every Friday, Opera Nightclub opens its doors to let Atlanta’s sexiest crowd flood in to start the largest weekly dance party in the southeast. This past Friday, January 17th, the crowd outside of 1150 Crescent Avenue began circling the block particularly early, all with guests amped up to hear legendary trance DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold spin the night away.
The party started early, as a diverse crowd began flooding the famous Opera dance floor. As anticipation built, the number one club in the Southeast’s historic walls began illuminating with reflections of LED lights and sparklers, while guests waved their glow wands in the air.
Around 12am, Atlanta’s sexiest crowd was ready to get down to Paul Oakenfold’s legendary mixes. Beginning his career in 1980, Paul Oakenfold began mixing songs with iconic superstars such as Bob Marley, and Oakenfold began receiving accolades soon after his early mixes with the legend. Since then, Paul Oakenfold has created over 100 mixes, and sold over 5 million long plays and tracks.
Since the beginning of his career, Paul Oakenfold’s talent has only progressed, and has attracted millions of fans to his trance records and popular remixes. Atlanta’s sexiest singles gathered on the dance floor, raging to Paul Oakenfold’s famous remix of “We Found Love” by Rhianna ft. Calvin Harris. Finding love in such a sexy crowd, however, was not difficult for the guests who came in solo.
Guests who got their name on Opera’s exclusive VIP guest list enjoyed dancing to Paul Oakenfold’s tracks from Opera’s two VIP floors, complete with two additional bars, and glass fencing to view the dance floor below. Bachelorette parties also chose to celebrate their night at Atlanta’s number one bachelorette party destination.
Guests were certainly given the show of a lifetime, as Paul Oakenfold delivered many of his hits, such as his remix of the 2007 hit “Gimme More” by Brittney Spears, giving the crowd a dance party they will never forget.
As the night came to an end, Paul Oakenfold closed his set with tracks from his 2012 tour with California based band Train, and premiered snippets of songs he wrote for Cher’s newest album “Woman’s World.”
As Paul Oakenfold says in his remix to “We Found Love,” the [crowd] is alive to the sound and the energy, and we are right where we wana be.”

Brillz performs at Opera for the first time!
Brillz performs at Opera for the first time!
Last Friday night Opera Night Club danced to the beats of hit trap artist, Brillz. As the line outside of 1150 Crescent Avenue Grew longer, so did the anticipation of the artists hit mixes. Guests could feel the 808 drums beating, the volume turning louder, and the bass dropping low, just waiting for guests to pile on to the dance floor. Around midnight, the lights dropped down low, as did the beat of the speakers, yet the crowd roared on, waiting for Brillz to take the tracks. After a moment of silence overtaken by the hyped crowd, Brillz took the stage, and blasted his hits for the sexiest crowd in Atlanta who were waiting to hear the popular artist’s new hits. Being that trap is a relatively new genre of music, Opera Night Club is proud to host trap artists every Friday night at the largest dance party in the Southeast. Taking the trap music scene by storm in 2010, Brillz began receiving accolades for his work in 2012, where he made his mark on the new genre that originated in the hip-hop capital of the world, Atlanta, Georgia.
As the night roared on, guests danced on Opera’s iconic dance floor, under neon lights to remixes of top 40 and hip hop hits, as well as original mixes, all spun by Brillz himself. Drinks poured on, and guests twenty one and older enjoyed the party from Opera’s exclusive VIP section, consisting of two luxurious floors, filled with the hottest crowd, that overlook the main dance floor from the glass fencing above. Yet, the party was also enjoyed by sexy singles, groups of friends, and birthday and bachelorette parties who celebrated their events at Atlanta’s top party destination.
Songs such as Zedd’s Clarity, Finattic’s don’t drop that thun, thun, thun, and Paramore’s Still In To You, were all given a club twist with Brillz’ unique remix of 808 sub-bass beats, triple-time division speeds, and layered synthesizers with the hit songs. As Atlanta’s hottest crow danced the night away, Brillz continued to showcase his talent that he brought exclusively to Opera Night Club.
Opera is proud to host more trap music artists at Illuminate Friday’s in the upcoming months. Be part of the largest dance party in the Southeast every Friday, and look forward to artists such as renowned Passion Pit, coming to Opera on January 31st. For a full list of events, check out Opera’s event calendar, and mark your own planner with night’s to come party at Atlanta’s top club, with the city’s sexiest young crowd.

Here, couples each enjoyed their own high-rise table, complete with name cards and a bottle of Dom Perignon to cheers to the New Year.
Down below, the shot girl made her rounds, socializing with guests while pouring specialty shots; as the cigar girl mingled amongst the crowd, carrying the humidor stocked with fine cigars, cigarillos, and souvenir lighters.

Illuminate Fridays ft. Porter Robinson
Illuminate Fridays ft. Porter Robinson
The day after thanksgiving is most typically spent relaxing with family while overcoming the food coma that is thanksgiving dinner. For young adults, the Friday after Thanksgiving marks the end of a break from school. Speaking from experience, this day can be a little sad. Having a break from the stress of school to see your family and friends from home only comes a few times a year. There are only so many moments you can spend with your loved ones before heading back to the grind.
This past Friday, though, was not your typical day after Thanksgiving. After spending a quiet day at home with family, groups of young adults met up with friends from home to get their minds off of returning to the grind. Groups flocked to Opera, Atlanta’s hottest nightclub, which holds Illuminate every Friday. Illuminate is the largest weekly dance party in the southeast. Every Friday, Opera brings a world-class DJ who spins electro, house, and dubstep music, to host the party, while Atlanta’s sexiest crowd dances the night away under the club’s LED light productions. Last Friday, Porter Robinson lit up the most popular club in the southeast with his renowned music that has landed him twice on Billboard’s 21 under 21 list, where he joins the likes of young pop stars, such as Miley Cyrus.
Guests who were 21 and up had the privilege of landing their names on Opera’s VIP guest list, where they could enjoy the show from their own VIP tables, or the famous Opera Boxes that overlook the dance floor. While guests ages 18-20 partied the night away on the iconic dance floor.
Every moment of Illuminate shined bright like a diamond last Friday night. There was not a moment of dullness, as well-known DJ Danny M opened for Porter Robinson. DJ Danny M is loved by Atlanta’s nightlife, and has been featured as one of CBS Local’s Best DJs in Atlanta.
Considering the incredible talent, dazzling lights, and hot, young crowd that Illuminate attracts each Friday, it’s no wonder that Opera’s Illuminate is the largest dance party in the southeast. In the words of Miley Cyrus, “We can’t stop, and we won’t stop” bringing the biggest party in the southeast to Atlanta each Friday, so there is excuse for you to miss the magic that Illuminate’s Friday nights.

Oh S#!T, Saturday night at Opera was unforgettable!
Oh S#!T, Saturday night at Opera was unforgettable!
Imagine walking down Crescent Avenue in Midtown. It’s a regular Saturday
night, and you expect to see a street crowded with groups of friends, and taxis zooming
by. A random passerby is expecting to see lines of people waiting to get into restaurants
and clubs that line the street.
But, as you approach the middle of Crescent Avenue, something wild strikes your
eye. As though you are witnessing some kind of wonderland, you see stilt walkers with
bodies of gold standing amongst guests, and Smurfs joining in and interacting with the
crowd. As though you are in a dream, you approach the line, and realize that you are
about to enter into the most sexy and unique Saturday night party that Atlanta has to
offer.
This dream like atmosphere is Opera’s weekly Saturday night S#!T Show. The
doors open at 10 pm, and although it was raining, and a freezing (at least for us native
to Atlanta) 50 degrees, the lines outside Atlanta’s hottest nightclub grew longer and
longer with people aching to experience the dream.
Around 11:30 the line began reaching further down Crescent Avenue, as more
passerby noticed the performers in line with guests, and many joined in on the line to
enter the one of a kind Show. Some guests contacted Opera before the night began, and
got their names on the elite Opera Guestlist. Others booked VIP tables that come with
VIP wristbands, bottle service, and intimate rooms and suites guests enjoy during their
night at Opera. The VIP tables also make Opera the ideal venue for bachelorette and
birthday parties.
This past Saturday DJ Cruise was spinning today’s top 40 hits, all while guests
awed at attractions, such as the famous flamethrowers performance. Around 1am, the
DJ booth projected a black and white screen, and the beat turned down low, building
anticipation all while guests waved their glow sticks in the air. Many guests who had
been observing the dance floor while enjoying a drink at one of the two bars located
on the dance floor took this time to squeeze their way onto the floor. Then, suddenly,
the room lit up with neon lights, the music turned loud, and guests went crazy for the
unique remixes of their favorite songs.
While many guests broke it down on the dance floor, others watched the main
stage and performances such as the drag queen show, flamethrower performances, and
classy burlesque show. When asked to describe the crowd at Opera, Drag Queen Violet
was quick to tell me that the crowd is “cute, mixed, and always have high energy.” Both
Violet and other performers were quick to explain why Opera was so special to them.
Besides the diverse, energetic crowd, the venue itself is so unique and holds history to
the city of Atlanta; a characteristic no club, bar, or venue can ever match.
Opera’s weekly S#!T shows are an event like no other. You can read my account
of the night, and paint a picture in your head, but once you go and experience the
excitement of the night, you will truly understand what goes down at the signature S#!T
Show.
Your next opportunities to join in on the antics are on Saturday, November 30th
after the UGA vs Tech game. DJ’s Mami Chula and KO will spin, and if you arrive before
midnight with a ticket stub from the game, admission to the madness is free of charge.
If you can’t make it then, fear not, as Mami Chula returns on Saturday, December 7th as
she DJ’s with Danny M. Tickets for this show Start at $10 for general admission.
In the wise words of popstar Ke$ha, one of the many featured artists on the
DJs tapes, “Let’s make a night you won’t remember,” but an experience you surely will
never forget.

ILLUMINATE FRIDAYS [6.21.13] present Paul Oakenfold
ILLUMINATE FRIDAYS [6.21.13] present Paul Oakenfold
Paul Oakenfold is the famous two time Grammy nominated DJ, remixer, and producer who introduced the world to house music. Born in London, England, Oakenfold’s musical career began with mixing at age 16. He made his first DJ appearance in the late 1970s, where he played soul at a basement wine bar in Covent Garden, London. In the early 1980’s Paul wanted to take his talent to the next level by traveling across the Atlantic Ocean and moving to New York City. His love and knowledge of music served him well, as he landed a job as an A&R consultant for Profile Records and Def Jam and later signed artists including Salt N’ Pepa, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith.
In the mid 1980’s Paul moved back to England where he continued to DJ at local spots and became a promoter and British agent for the Beastie Boys and Run-D.M.C. In 1987, Oakenfold visited the Spanish island of Ibiza best known for its summer parties and dance-loving audience, and introduced the balearic trance sound that he would later become known for. This event marked his career as a producer and in 1988 he started the record label Perfecto Records, which he still owns and operates for new artists to develop their careers. He has signed artists such as David Guetta, Infected Mushroom, BT, Kenneth Thomas, Robert Vadney, DJ Skribble and many more.
By the mid 1990’s Paul helped turn dance music into the mainstream in European culture – Oakenfold became the most well known performance DJ, thus catching the attention of the band U2, who later invited him on their worldwide tour. As the UK dance scene grew, Paul launched the London super club Ministry of Sound and took on residency in Liverpool’s Cream. In 1999, Paul decided to leave Europe and move to the United States bringing his famous sound with him and changing the landscape of the DJing game worldwide with his monumental first US tour.
Paul’s first album for Maverick, ‘Bunkka’ was released in 2002. It included the massive single ‘Starry Eyed Surprised’ featuring Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town, a Top 10 hit in both the US and the UK. Other guests on the album were Perry Farrell, Nelly Furtado, Ice Cube, Tricky and Hunter S Thompson.
In 2004 Oakenfold released a mix album ‘Another World’ which reached gold status in sales, making it one of the biggest selling dance albums of all time.
Paul released his second album for Maverick ‘A Lively Mind’ in June 2006. This Grammy-nominated album includes the single ‘Faster Kill Pussycat’ featuring Brittany Murphy. Other guests on the album were Pharrell Williams, Grandmaster Flash and Ryan Tedder of Onerepublic.
In 2007, Oakenfold released his ‘Greatest Hits & Remixes’ album through Perfecto/Ultra Records, a 20 selection strong collection of his seminal dance recordings and remixes. The album’s track listing ranges from original productions like ‘Starry Eyed Surprise,’ ‘Ready Steady Go,’ and ‘Faster Kill Pussycat,’ and multiple remixes he produced of artists like Justin Timberlake, U2, Madonna, The Ssmashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead.
Paul currently holds a much coveted US residency at one of the largest night clubs in Las Vegas, Rain at The Palms Casino. Perfecto, his creation and his first and only US residency, which is his famous Saturday night party, began in 2008 and continues to grow. Paul revolutionized dance music and created a home for it in Las Vegas while changing the landscape of the party scene in town. His knowledge of the genre and sound of dance music makes him the pioneer of the genre and a game changer for many. Oakenfold’s popularity and style paved the way for many dance DJs to follow suit, with other clubs in Las Vegas using his successful model of dance music to mold club nights of their own.
During his free time he can also be found in the studio producing and remixing music’s biggest hits, which include songs by Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Kings of Leon, U2, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, The Cure and many more.

Krewella: Atlanta Debut
Opera Nightclub presents Krewella!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Illuminate presents EDM super group Krewella.
(18+ Welcome)
On Friday, May 3rd of 2013, Opera Nightclub welcomes EDM super group Krewella for a special edition of the weekly Friday night clubbing experience, Illuminate.
The looks, the sound, and the voice. It’s rare for a group to have the entire package, but when it happens, it’s gold. Meet Krewella. The three pieces from Chicago are a match made in audio heaven. The man behind the beats, Kris Trindl (Rain Main), pumps out high-throttle bangers, drawing from dubstep, moombahton, and house. Sisters Yasmine and Jahan Yousaf add to the mix with spicy vocals and lyrics that get things hyped. Founded in 2007, Krewella didn’t truly start to grab ears until late in 2012, when their single “Killin’ It,” rocketed the group onto the national stage.
Debuting at #1 on Beatport, the success of their first EP, Play Hard, landed them a contract with Columbia Records. All that time simmering in Chi-town’s West Loop neighborhood was well spent. Mashing pop with the underground, Krewella is a charismatic act that can’t be overlooked. Their music blasts with confidence and quality. It’s easy to see that Krewella is just getting started. The five tracks on Play Hard each hold a different style, but flow with a polished approach that rocks between aggressive and playful. Their current single “Alive” is climbing the Billboard charts, currently #7 on the Billboard Electronic/Dance Chart and #40 on the Billboard Top 100. These three friends know they’re rockstars, and they’re doing a great job of letting everyone else know.

John Dahlbäck
Illuminate presents John Dahlback on April 12
John Dahlbäck is further testament to the theory that when it comes to overly talented musical homelands, there could indeed be something in Sweden’s water. Born in 1985 in a small village near Stockholm, he landed his first record deal aged just 15 while most of his peers were just discovering clubs. Just a few years later he was already the proud owner of a worldwide respected label, had a string of well-known productions to his name and a reputation for quietly turning out some of the best house melodies you could hope to hear.
With a family background boasting more music than the Von Trapps it’s no surprise he was instantly hooked – his mum sings in a jazz band, his dad drummed in a prog rock band, and various aunts and uncles played piano, guitar and more, so he was hardly stuck for inspiration or opinions to help him get started. Learning the basics on his dad’s Atari computer he soon established his own style, and his second demo, a jazz-influenced, deep house number called Night Flash, earned him a record deal with Route 33.
After five successful years running his Pickadoll label, John started his own label “Mutants”, “I had a real vision about the label,” says John Dahlbäck. “I can hear within a couple of seconds whether a track will fit, and I love doing this kind of organised work – sending out promos and looking for licenses – otherwise I’m just a slave to the studio!”
Although primarily an outlet for John’s more experimental tracks from the studio, about 20% of Mutants’ output is made up of other artists signed by John. “I like to combine sounds and styles and I still want that emotional twist, but I love the playful and sometimes experimental vibe of house.”
His last album called “Winners And Fools” came out in September 2008, and described by John as “the one I’m most proud of. I’ve done a lot in the past and there have been some amazing moments. When the single “Blink” started to get big in France and I was making the video it was a huge moment, but every time I do a track now I feel I’m improving. For John Dahlbäck, his agenda for making and playing music is simple. “I’m quite calm when I DJ, I don’t want to be ‘showy’ - I love to play for dancing people, to really see them loving the tunes. And I love to make the tunes that get them dancing…”
Now, in 2011, John Dahlbäck has several songs on Toolroom, Spinnin’, Defected, Versuz, Big Beat/Atlantic NEWS, Universal GAS, Universal Nordic, Ministry Of Sound Australia and One Love/Sony Australia. His latest single featuring Erik Hassle “One Last Ride” (with remixes by Tommy Trash & Felix Cartal among others) has already been added to National Radio in Sweden and played by the Swedish House Mafia on their Pete Tong Radio1 show.
This year he has also remixed Lady Gaga, Nicole Featuring 50 Cent, Skylar Gray, David Morales and Sneaky Soundsystem among others.
Already for 2012 John will be releasing a Mix Cd for Tool Room Records in January with several other releases coming out every month.
